I was shopping at Trader Joes and a young twenty something store employee stopped me, "Mam", she said, (Mam?? is she really talking to me? mam??) "where did you get your cardigan?" (now that's more like it) "LOFT" I answer. And she stares blankly--"you know, Ann Taylor's LOFT?" Still blank. So I instruct her where to find a store, and move along. So I have found my niche-my choice of caridigan color-still cool, my choice of store to purchase it at--only cool to those of us "Mams".

Birthday Ideas
I'm in Young Womens--over Mia Maids. And currently we don't do anything for welcoming in the new class member. I've come up with a few ideas, but I don't love them.
I always like something where the young women write little notes about the young woman and give them to her. Providing there are no sneaky mean girls in the class. Ingrid's teacher had the girls write little notes on stars and taped them to a board for New Beginnings and then the girls took them home and read them. She had a way of ensuring that every girl got the same number, but I don't know what it was. Ingrid still has the stars taped up on her wall.
We are lame but we heart attack them the night before - and sernade them with 'Happy Birthday' - they also love the candy poster. One of our advisors was a health nut and did posters with fruits and veggies.
Anything that brings attention to them and lets them know you remember and see them is enough.
