She's Crafty

How cool are these????

If you know me, you know I'm not crafty. I'm also not a fan of crafty things, unless they are cook crafty like this. I lifted those photos of off Crafty Synergy Blog. It's the newest blog I stalk. It highlights crafty people and where you can get their goods. I believe these are sold on Etsy.

Alien of Love

I usually do Photobooth Tuesday but I have a few things I want to post so I thought I'd pop one in. It is a source of entertainment to check my photobooth archives every couple of days for some good laughs.

I thought I'd share.

Tagged

I got tagged, not blog tagged.

Well, my couch got tagged. By the Juice.

Doesn't it look legit?

Luckily it's chalk, but I think she has some street skills

Quit your whining

All I hear on the radio is doom and gloom. It's all around, and if you listen to any sort of politic rhetoric it is that America is in the worst state it's ever been.

WRONG

I finally heard something good for a change on NPR's Talk of the Nation. A reporter wrote an op-ed piece that gives you something to think about.

We're not that bad off. In fact we're better off than we've ever been. Yah, some things suck like gas prices and the war, but really--we're not hurting that bad.

If you care, Check it out HERE.

We're just a bunch of complainers.

We all just need a good dose of perspective

Story teller

My friend has been reading a photography book and she told me about how it suggests that pictures should tell a story. I've heard that before and I do it, then I forget.

So, the other day REd found my binnoculars and decided to star gaze. It was super cute so I pulled out the camera. I couldn't decide whether to post this on my photo blog of here, so I just decided to put it here.

What I like about these photos is that they are super grainy because of the High ISO I had to use, and that they are dark, because it was getting dark. Not technically correct, but they tell a story.

Photobooth Tuesday

I used to do a photobooth blog entry every week, and then I quit for a while. But now they are starting to get good again, so I think I might do it.

For those of you who don't know what photobooth is, it's a program on a MAC. I have an iMAC and the camera is built into my screen. The kids just sit down, turn the program on and they can take photos or video and do different effects.

It is Red's favorite thing to do. It's nice, because she will sit down and do it forever. The other kids like it too, but she is the only one who knows how to run it.

So every once in a while, I open up photobooth to check for the latest entertainment.

This was my favorite. She just talks to the screen and has herself some good new-fashioned fun.

Check it.

No Oven this summer

I stole this idea from my friend Kindy.

It's hotter than haties in AZ and I don't want to heat my house up even more so I'm going for . . .

A NO OVEN SUMMER

That's right. I'm not going to cook one darn thing using my oven. Except for an occasional batch of cookies.

So I need your help. I've come up with categories that I listed things under that can be either grilled, or cooked on the stove top. Here they are:

Grill

Pasta/Noodles

Sandwiches

Salad

Mexican

Chinese/Other Ethnic Foods

Crock Pot

So I listed everything I knew how to make under these categories. As you can see there are 7 which will give me a different meal for each day of the week.

So for you help---I want your ideas/recipes. Do you have anything you love that doesn't require an oven? Have you cooked anything from the food network that you can link me to? Let me know what you have, so I can have more of a variety.

So you can post things in the comments like links or ideas you have, or you can e-mail me.

Or both.

e-mail me at:

emailjillcandland@gmail.com

Thank you.
