I found a reason

My husband is a runner. I don't want to be. I don't really like it. But he read this book once and it talked about this race where they invited these indigenous Mexican? or South American? people to run this 100 mile race or something. And these amazing runners were getting schooled by these people. And the people would pass them and be laughing and joking like they hadn't been running 100 miles. They ran because they loved it.

And if I run, it HAS to be for the fun of it--otherwise I don't want to do it.

So I've found a reason to run.

The Christmas Story

I'm loving this Christmas story told by kids. My kids loved it too.

It's the Final Countdown--da na neer neer da na ner ner neer

And the answer is . . . .Season 2 premier!!! I was going to wait and see if anyone figured it out, but I was too excited. So excited I rewatched season 1 on Netflix.

It's the best drama mini series. If you like any of the BBC Masterpiece classics like Pride and Prejudice--you'll love this. This one has more going on though.

It will suck you in. The acting is magnificent, the plot lines are well thought out and criss crossing. And the characters, you'll hate some, love some, feel sad for some, and excited and frustrated and so much more. It's witty and clever and --well--I could go on and on. It seriously is the best.

You can stream it on netflix. I just rewatched the whole series and it was even better the second time because I picked up on more details. And I learned that some local stations are rebroadcasting the first season before the second one arrives so check there.

Just a heads up--if it's already 9:30 and you think you going to be able to watch just one episode . . . so wrong.

You'll be on episode three at 1 a.m. telling yourself that you can probably still fit one more in before going to sleep.

But do it--even if you have to suffer through grogginess the next day.

It's been a while

My kids used to spend lots of time on photobooth, but then they stopped. They just renewed their love for it. And it's funny. Maybe only to me--but it's still worth a watch. You'll at least think they're cute.

It's a wall of dust

If you are not from Arizona, or the middle East--you are probably not familiar dust storms. They are amazing to watch rolling in. My kids looked out the window and thought it was rain. But it was dust--they wanted to play in it, so I let them. What's more fun than being pelted with flying dirt? They opened the doors a few times getting in and out--which left a thin layer of dust on my desk. It was crazy. Josie ran in an asked to see the news (which is super random) and there was some cool video. On one of the stations they showed the reporter and he was covered in dust--like he had rolled around in it. Anyhow--check this out. Watch until about 3:30 on the video--it is amazing.

Marriage Ref is Back!

A TV show where couples send in their problems and comedians/celebrities discuss/be hilarious about the whole thing. Then the super funny host decides who wins the fight.

It's laugh out loud funny.

Season Premiere Sunday night. I'll be watching fo sho.

For Inspiration

You have to watch this. My college roommate sent it to me, because one of the mothers in it was her friend in High School. And this happens right here in the Valley.

It makes you hopeful for the youth of today. It's a fantastic story.

Michelle S.--you have to watch this, I thought of you when I saw it because your kids do triathlons. You have to get them to watch it--I think they'd like it.

It's a Mormon Message--so you'll hear him use the term "deacon's quorum". That is what they call the age group of 12-13 year old boys in each ward (congregation).

Political Circle

I heard once that politics is a circle. That although the media loves to pit left against right--it it more of a circle, and there comes a point there the left and right connect and would agree on things.

I think this video--is that connection. Maybe not in the nitty gritty details--but I think this makes sense to both sides.

We're Screwed

It's been a long time since I've been political. My brother send me stuff all the time--sometimes I read it sometime I don't. But this has been on my mind lately. I have been hearing all around he media about how the rich are such horrible money hiding jerks. And how if we just take their money-the problems would be solved.

I'm not rich--nor will I ever be. But guess what--the rich are rich because someone along the line worked their butts off and sacrificed their time and family to get them there. It's their money--they deserve to keep it. Should they be taxed fairly? Yes. We all should--including the poor. Therefore we are all contributing members of society.

And the rich can't save us from an overspending government that is too huge to sustain. By the way I am so sick of the buzz word sustain--it irks me second only to the words "go green".

If you have time--then watch this. It opened my eyes to two things. #1 The rich can't save us. #2 We're Totally Screwed.
